What type of information we have
We will collect the following personal information on participants in the Crescendo project:
- Full name.
- Email address.
- Employment data including job title and team.
Further to personal information, we will also collect data necessary for the evaluation and
learning of the Crescendo project – primarily collected through surveys, but also
supplemented by interviews with randomly-selected samples of participants. The surveys
and interviews will assess:
- The proportion of time practitioners are able to spend with children and families.
- The barriers that prevent practitioners from building relationships with children and
families. - The extent to which practitioners feel able effect change within their Local Authority.
- Practitioners’ wellbeing and job satisfaction.
We will also request the following information from Local Authority records:
- Job retention rate for relevant teams.
- Turnover rate for children and families.
How we get the information and why we have it
We will collect most of the above data through surveys disseminated to participants at
touchpoints throughout the Crescendo project. Some personal and evaluation data will be
provided directly by Local Authority partners. The personal data will ensure that we can
communicate with participants throughout the intervention. The evaluation data will allow us
to adapt our learnings throughout the project, ensuring that we are delivering an effective
intervention, in line with metrics agreed between Crescendo, our funders and Local Authority
partners.
We are relying on ‘Legitimate Interests’ principle as the lawful basis for processing your data.
We are also required to process your data in order to meet contractual agreements outlined
by our funders, particularly around sharing the learnings from the intervention. By taking part
in this project, you are consenting to the Crescendo team using your data in the manner laid
out in this document.

Data collection and processing will be carried out by your Local Authority employer and the

– The Centre for Public Impact, who are providing support to this project.
– The What Works Centre for Children’s Social Care, who are providing advice and
support around the project’s Learning and Evaluation strategy.
Personal information that can be used to identify you individually will not be shared with any
other agencies or partners without your explicit consent. We will share aggregated data
externally as part of our efforts to disseminate learning around this intervention.
